My Courses

All courses you have created or enrolled in — your personal LMS dashboard.

Overview

My Courses shows every course associated with your account in TotalApp's built-in LMS. This includes courses you have authored in the Course Builder and courses you are enrolled in as a learner. It gives you a single entry point for both roles without switching modules.

Relationship to the LMS module

My Courses is the personal view. For full LMS administration (enrollments, cohorts, grading) use the dedicated LMS module available in LMS mode.

Key Features

Authored Courses

All courses you built with the Course Builder are listed here. Click to re-open them in the editor.

Enrolled Courses

Courses assigned to you by an administrator appear in the Enrolled tab with your progress percentage.

Progress Tracking

See a progress bar on each enrolled course showing how many lessons you have completed.

Continue Learning

Click Continue on any enrolled course to jump straight to the last lesson you were viewing.

Quick Publish

Toggle a course between Draft and Published directly from the My Courses card without opening the editor.

My Courses AI Assistant

The AI assistant for My Courses is an intelligent study companion that understands all your courses — titles, descriptions, learning progress, completion status, and course content. It can help you analyze your learning journey, identify knowledge gaps, and get personalized recommendations for your continued learning.

What the Assistant Can Do

  • Analyze Courses — summarize key topics across all your courses, identify overlapping content, and understand relationships between courses.
  • Gap Identification — identify missing topics or skills across your enrolled courses based on your learning goals.
  • Progress Tracking — see your overall completion percentage across all courses and which courses need focus.
  • Personalized Recommendations — get AI-suggested courses to take next based on your interests and learning patterns.
  • Learning Path Planning — create a recommended sequence of courses for skill development or certification prep.

How to Use It

Open the AI Assistant panel from the right edge of the My Courses screen. Select one or more courses from your list, then type your question. The assistant scans the selected courses' metadata and content to provide insights. You can also ask questions about your entire course portfolio without selecting specific courses.

Example Prompts

  • "Which of my enrolled courses overlap in topic? Can I skip any lessons?"
  • "What's my average progress across all courses?"
  • "Recommend the next course for me to take based on my completed courses"
  • "Identify the most critical topics I haven't learned yet"
  • "Create a 4-week learning plan from my available courses"
  • "Which course should I prioritize if I want to learn project management?"

Study Smart with AI

For best results, ask the assistant to help you: (1) identify prerequisite courses, (2) highlight key definitions and terminology, (3) create mini-quizzes on course topics, and (4) suggest additional resources for difficult concepts. The assistant's knowledge comes from the course descriptions, so clearer course metadata leads to better insights.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enroll in a course?
Self-enrollment and administrator-assigned enrollment both work. For self-enrollment, browse the course catalog in the LMS module and click Enroll. The course then appears in My Courses under the Enrolled tab.
Can I delete a course I authored?
Yes — hover over the course card, open the context menu (three dots), and choose Delete. Deleting a published course also unenrolls all learners. This action is irreversible.
What is the difference between the Authored and Enrolled tabs?
Authored shows courses you built yourself using the Course Builder, where you control content, lessons, and publish status. Enrolled shows courses assigned to you (or that you self-enrolled in) as a learner, where you track your own progress instead of editing content.
Why isn't my progress bar updating on an enrolled course?
Progress updates when you mark a lesson as complete inside the course viewer. If you navigated through lessons without clicking Mark Complete, the progress bar won't reflect that activity. Reopen the course, use Continue to jump to your last position, and complete lessons explicitly to update the percentage.
