Getting Started with Video Tools
Master TotalApp's AI-powered video creation suite — from text-to-video to short film production — with this comprehensive guide.
Overview
TotalApp's Video Creator gives you a complete pipeline for generating, animating, and producing professional-quality videos entirely with AI. Whether you are a marketer creating product demos, an educator building explainer content, or a creator experimenting with short films, the Video Creator toolset covers every stage of production.
No video editing experience required
Every tool in the Video Creator suite is designed around natural language and visual inputs. Describe what you want, configure a handful of parameters, and TotalApp's AI handles the rest.
Text to Video
Generate video clips directly from descriptive text prompts using advanced diffusion models and temporal consistency technology.
Image to Video
Animate any still image — portraits, landscapes, product shots — into a smooth, motion-rich video clip with camera and subject movement.
AI Effects
Apply curated template effects to photographs — hero transformations, fashion animations, fantasy themes — without writing any prompts.
Short Film Creator
Compose multi-scene narratives by chaining video sections, maintaining character and style consistency, and merging them into a single cinematic output.
Quick Start Workflow
Follow this five-step workflow to create your first AI video in TotalApp. The same flow applies regardless of which tool you choose to start with.
- Choose Tool: Navigate to Video Creator in the sidebar and select the tool that matches your starting material — text, image, or a prior video clip.
- Provide Input: Type a text prompt, upload an image, or link an existing video clip depending on the selected tool.
- Configure Parameters: Set duration, resolution, style, motion intensity, and frame rate to match your target platform and use case.
- Generate & Preview: Start generation and review the result in the built-in preview player. Regenerate with adjusted parameters if needed.
- Export & Share: Download the final MP4 or share directly to social media platforms from within TotalApp.
Common Parameters
All Video Creator tools share a common set of output parameters. Understanding these settings once applies across every tool in the suite.
| Parameter | Options | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Duration | 5 s, 8 s, 10 s, 15 s | 5 s | Longer durations use more generation credits and take more time |
| Resolution | 360p, 540p, 720p, 1080p | 720p | 1080p recommended for professional or presentation use |
| Frame Rate | 24 fps, 30 fps | 24 fps | 24 fps gives a cinematic feel; 30 fps is better for web and social |
| Motion Mode | Normal, Fast | Normal | Fast mode intensifies movement; use Normal for subtle or ambient scenes |
| Output Format | MP4, WebM | MP4 | MP4 is universally compatible; WebM is best for web embedding |
| Seed | Random, Fixed | Random | Fix the seed to reproduce identical outputs when iterating on prompts |
Best Practices
Writing Effective Video Prompts
The more specific your prompt, the more predictable and professional the output. Include:
- Subject: Who or what is in the video (e.g., "a woman in a red coat")
- Action: What is happening (e.g., "walking through a snowy forest")
- Camera: Movement or angle (e.g., "slow dolly forward", "wide establishing shot")
- Lighting/Mood: Atmosphere (e.g., "golden hour sunlight", "moody blue hour")
- Style: Visual aesthetic (e.g., "cinematic", "anime", "3D render")
Platform-Optimised Settings
- Instagram Reels / TikTok: 5–8 s, 720p or 1080p, portrait crop (9:16)
- YouTube Shorts: 8–15 s, 1080p, portrait or square
- LinkedIn / X (Twitter): 5–10 s, 720p landscape (16:9)
- Presentations: 5–8 s, 1080p, landscape (16:9)
Generation Credit Usage
Each generation consumes credits from your plan. Higher resolution and longer durations use more credits per video. Use 540p and 5-second durations during experimentation, then generate the final version at full quality.
