Enablement & Commission

The three screens Sales Ops, reps and customer-success teams use day to day: commission and bonus calculation, speed-to-lead SLA tracking, and the sales playbooks that move deals forward.

What this group does

The previous three groups covered deals, data quality and forward-looking forecasts; Enablement & Commission looks at the sales team's day-to-day performance and whether they're being rewarded and supported correctly — are reps getting paid the right commission on time, are inbound leads getting a fast enough response, and does the rep have the right sales material at the right moment. All three screens watch a different layer of the sales org's operational health.

Sales Compensation
SLA & Response Metrics
RevOps Playbooks

All three screens share the same pattern as the rest of RevOps: a working ledger of records, an AI diagnostic that searches the ledger for similar cases before reasoning about the current one, and a quick action that pushes the finding back out — approving a payout, escalating a breach, or deploying a playbook.

1. Sales Compensation

Purpose: Semantically factor in sales reps' quota attainment, tiered accelerator structures, spiff rewards and clawback rules; match closed-won contracts' billing and collection status against the compensation rules to catch commission anomalies, faulty payouts and budget deviations ahead of time.

Key features

  • Compensation Budget Accuracy gauge — a live percentage of payouts no longer sitting in Draft Calculations (i.e. AI Verified, Finance Approved or Paid) out of all payouts on file.
  • Commission payout ledger — Payout ID, sales rep name and territory, period, quota attainment percentage, calculated commission, applied accelerators/spiffs, payout status (Draft Calculations / AI Verified / Finance Approved / Paid), and the AI's compliance audit verdict.
  • Approve Commission Payout — a one-click action that hands a payout off to payroll/finance and confirms it with an on-screen message.
  • AI Compensation Audit & Clawback Risk Diagnostic — enter the rep name, period, quota attainment and calculated commission; the assistant first searches the existing payout ledger for similar cases (semantic search, with a keyword fallback if no local model is available), lets you pick which matches to include, then reasons over the selected cases to return a risk level, a clawback-risk note, an over/underpayment note, a disputed quota-credit note, and a recommended approval action.

2. SLA & Response Metrics

Purpose: Semantically track how fast marketing and sales respond to inbound leads (speed-to-lead), how long proposals take to prepare, and customer-communication SLAs; catch rule-breaking delays (SLA breaches) and rep response bottlenecks in real time, and generate automated re-routing and escalation alerts to cut the risk of losing the lead.

Key features

  • Speed-to-Lead SLA Compliance gauge — a live percentage of leads contacted within a fixed 5-minute target window.
  • SLA response log — SLA Metric ID, lead/account reference, assigned representative, lead source channel, target response SLA (minutes), actual first response time (minutes), SLA status (Compliant - Fast / Warning / SLA Breached), and the AI's churn-risk rating.
  • Escalate SLA Breach — a one-click action that reassigns a stagnant lead to an available rep and fires an escalation alert, confirmed with an on-screen message.
  • AI Lead SLA Breach Diagnostic — enter the lead/account, assigned rep, source channel, target SLA and actual response time; the assistant searches the response log for similar cases (semantic search with a keyword fallback), lets you select which ones to include, then returns a risk level, the rep's SLA compliance percentage, a bottleneck note, a recommended re-routing action, and a churn-risk note.

3. RevOps Playbooks

Purpose: Semantically publish dynamic sales scripts, competitor battlecards, objection-handling guides and discount approval limits for sales, marketing and customer-success (CSM) teams; recommend the specific playbook and talking points that give a rep the best win-rate for the deal's stage and known competitor.

Key features

  • Sales Enablement Adoption gauge — a live percentage, among Active Live playbooks only, of those whose adoption rate is 50% or higher.
  • Playbook repository — Playbook ID, title, category (Competitor Battlecard / Objection Handling / Executive Pitch / Discount Governance), target stage (Demo / Proposal / Negotiation), adoption rate, win-rate impact, status (Draft / Active Live / Archived), and an AI recommendation score.
  • Deploy Playbook to Reps — a one-click action that pushes the enablement update and its email template to the CRM, confirmed with an on-screen message.
  • AI Playbook Match & Context Scripting Diagnostic — enter the playbook title, category, target stage and adoption rate; the assistant searches the repository for similar playbooks (semantic search with a keyword fallback), lets you choose which to include, then returns a risk level, an adoption outlook, a recommended battlecard, a suggested talk track, and a short contextual script the rep can use right away.

How the AI diagnostics work

Each screen's diagnostic runs in two stages so the AI's reasoning is always grounded in your organization's own data, never invented from scratch:

StageWhat happens
1 — SearchThe screen searches its own ledger for records similar to the one you're investigating, ranks them by relevance, and lets you pick which ones matter before continuing. If no local search model is available, it falls back to a keyword match automatically.
2 — DiagnoseThe selected records are handed to the AI assistant along with the record you're investigating. It returns a risk level, a plain-language explanation of what's likely happening, and concrete next steps — scoped only to the records you selected.

A note on the quick actions

Approve Commission Payout, Escalate SLA Breach, and Deploy Playbook to Reps never change the record they act on. All three always show a confirmation message, but under the hood each one is only a calculation and a hand-off point — TotalApp does not yet have a live connection to payroll/finance systems, lead-routing/alerting infrastructure, or the CRM. That means all three actions in this group behave the same way: the button is never permanently disabled, and you can re-run it as many times as you like. In every case, the on-screen confirmation tells you exactly what happened.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between these three screens?
Sales Compensation answers "is this rep getting paid the right commission at the right time?" SLA & Response Metrics answers "are we responding to leads fast enough?" RevOps Playbooks answers "does the rep have the right sales material for this deal?" Each looks at a different operational layer of sales performance.
Why does the Speed-to-Lead SLA Compliance gauge always use a fixed 5-minute target?
The gauge is calculated against the industry-standard 5-minute speed-to-lead target — not the record's own Target Response SLA field. So a record can meet its own 15-minute target and show "Compliant - Fast" in the table, but if it took longer than 5 minutes it still won't count toward the gauge. The SLA Status column reflects the record's own target; the gauge reflects the fixed industry benchmark.
Does the Sales Enablement Adoption gauge count Draft or Archived playbooks?
No — the gauge only counts playbooks in Active Live status. Playbooks that haven't been published yet (Draft) or are no longer in use (Archived) are excluded from the calculation regardless of their adoption rate. If there are no Active Live playbooks, the gauge shows 0%.
What happens if I run Approve Commission Payout, Escalate SLA Breach, or Deploy Playbook again?
Nothing to worry about — since none of this group's three actions change the record itself, you can run them as many times as you like; there's no permanent "already done" state.
Why did the AI diagnostic fall back to a keyword search?
The similarity search normally uses a local embedding model. If that model isn't available in your environment, the screen automatically falls back to a keyword match over the same ledger so the diagnostic still works — you'll see a note on screen when this happens.
Who can see these screens?
Anyone holding a RevOps role can use all three screens once the RevOps package is active on your tenant — see Roles & Capabilities for how to assign one.
