The Global Tag Library

The Tagging System is the central registry for every tag in your TotalApp workspace. Tags created here are immediately available in every module — Ecommerce, Purchase, Warehouse, Marketing, CRM, and Analytics — without any additional configuration. Think of it as Shopify's tag system, but spanning your entire business instead of just the storefront.

Single Source of Truth

There is one tag library per workspace. Whether a team member applies a tag from the Warehouse inventory screen or from the Ecommerce product editor, they are selecting from the same shared library. Tag names, colors, and descriptions are consistent everywhere.

Creating and Managing Tags

Tag Properties

Color

Each tag has a color used in list views, kanban boards, and filter chips to visually distinguish product groups at a glance.

Aliases

Add alternative names (e.g. "footwear" as alias for "shoes") so that search and import tools resolve multiple spellings to the same canonical tag.

Description

Optional internal note explaining what products should receive this tag — useful for teams onboarding new staff or enforcing consistent tagging policies.

Usage Stats

See how many products carry this tag, which modules reference it most, and trend over the last 30 days — all without leaving the tag detail panel.

FAQ

Are tags shared between tenants?

No. Each workspace (tenant) has its own isolated tag library. Tags are scoped to your organization and never visible to other TotalApp customers.

Can I import tags from Shopify?

Yes. The Ecommerce → Shopify Integration sync imports all Shopify product tags into the global tag library automatically. Existing tags are matched by name; new ones are created on first sync.

What is the difference between archiving and deleting a tag?

Archiving hides the tag from pickers but preserves all existing associations — products keep the tag on their record, and historical reports still reflect it. Deleting removes the tag from all products permanently.
