Key Concepts

  • Cap table: A spreadsheet or database showing who owns shares in your company, how many, and at what price. Updated with each funding round.
  • Dilution: The reduction of existing shareholders' ownership percentage when new shares are issued in a funding round.
  • Vesting schedule: The timeline over which a founder or employee earns their equity. Typical schedules are 4 years with a 1-year cliff.
  • Runway: How long a company can operate before running out of cash, based on current burn rate. Visible in the Financial Projection Modeler.
  • Pitch deck: A short presentation (usually 10-15 slides) summarising the problem, solution, market, team, and financials for investors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I model multiple funding rounds?
Yes. Cap Table Management lets you add as many rounds as needed (Seed, Series A, B, etc.) and instantly recalculates dilution and ownership percentages after each round.
Can I export the pitch deck to PowerPoint?
Yes. Pitch Deck Creator supports export to PPTX and PDF. You can also share a live read-only link with investors directly from the platform.
Are financial projections linked to the business plan or pitch deck?
Yes. Both Business Plan Builder and Pitch Deck Creator have a Load from Financial Model button that pulls traction and funding numbers from a saved Financial Projection Modeler model. This is a one-time snapshot at the moment you load it, not a live sync — if you update the model afterward, reload it in each screen to refresh the text.
