Managing Permissions

Reconnecting Accounts

Platform tokens expire periodically. If a connection shows as expired, click Reconnect to refresh the authorization without losing your settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can connect or disconnect a social media account?
Any team member with access to Ads & Social Media can view connected accounts, but only Tenant Admins and users explicitly granted publishing permissions can add a new connection, reconnect an expired one, or remove an existing connection. This prevents an account from being accidentally disconnected by someone who only needs to schedule posts.
Why does a connected account suddenly show as "Expired"?
Social platforms issue OAuth tokens with a limited lifetime, and some (like Facebook and Instagram) periodically require re-authorization for security reasons. When this happens, TotalApp marks the connection as expired rather than silently failing to publish. Click Reconnect next to the account — this refreshes the token without affecting any scheduled posts or historical analytics tied to that connection.
Can I connect the same Facebook Page or Instagram account to more than one tenant?
Yes. Since authorization happens through the platform's own OAuth flow, the same Page or Business account can be connected from multiple TotalApp tenants independently. Each tenant manages its own token and permission scope, so disconnecting the account in one tenant has no effect on the connection in another.
Does TotalApp ever access my direct messages or follower lists?
No. TotalApp only requests the minimum OAuth scopes required to publish content and read basic analytics (impressions, engagement, reach). Permissions for direct messages, follower/audience personal data, or account settings are never requested during the connection flow.
