SEO Analyzer
Analyse page SEO scores, keyword density, meta tags, and get AI improvement suggestions.
Overview
SEO Analyzer lets your content and marketing teams audit any web page or piece of content for search engine optimisation quality — without leaving TotalApp. Paste a URL or type your page content directly into the analyser, click Analyse, and receive an instant breakdown of what is working and what needs improvement.
The AI suggestion engine (powered by Claude) goes beyond a checklist score. For every failing check, it generates a specific, actionable recommendation tailored to the page's content — not generic SEO advice copied from a template.
Quick Start
Go to Marketing > SEO Analyzer to get started.
Analysis Categories
On-Page SEO
Checks the title tag, meta description, H1–H6 hierarchy, keyword density, and image alt text.
Keyword Analysis
Reports how often your target keyword appears in the content, whether it appears in headings, and competitor density.
Technical SEO
Checks page load speed, mobile friendliness, canonical URL, structured data (schema), and robots.txt.
Link Analysis
Internal and external link counts, broken links, and anchor text distribution.
Score Criteria
| Criterion | Weight | Ideal Value |
|---|---|---|
| Title tag | 15% | 50–60 characters, should include the target keyword. |
| Meta description | 10% | 150–160 characters, compelling and keyword-rich. |
| H1 tag | 10% | A single H1 per page, containing the target keyword. |
| Content length | 15% | Minimum 300 words, ideally 1,000+. |
| Page speed | 20% | LCP < 2.5s, FID < 100ms. |
| Mobile friendliness | 15% | Renders correctly on all devices. |
| Internal links | 10% | At least 2–3 relevant internal links. |
| Image optimisation | 5% | Alt text filled in, WebP format preferred. |
Aim for 90+
SEO Analyzer scores from 0–100. Pages scoring 90 or above see a noticeably better ranking in search results.
SEO Score Breakdown
After analysis, the results panel shows an Overall Score from 0 to 100, followed by individual sub-scores for each SEO factor. Sub-scores in green (70–100) are passing, amber (40–69) need improvement, and red (0–39) are failing. Example output for a typical blog post:
Each sub-score row can be expanded to see the detailed finding — for example, the Image Alt Tags row will list every image on the page that is missing an alt attribute.
Keyword Analysis
The Keyword tab in the results panel shows the analyser's assessment of your primary keyword usage and suggests related terms to strengthen topical authority.
Primary Keyword Detection
The analyser detects the most prominent keyword phrase on the page based on frequency and heading prominence. You can override this by entering your target keyword manually before running the analysis.
Keyword Density
Primary keyword occurrences as a percentage of total word count. The optimal range is 0.5–2.5%. Both under-use (too low to signal relevance) and over-use (keyword stuffing penalty risk) are flagged.
Related Keyword Suggestions
The AI suggests semantically related terms and LSI keywords that commonly co-occur with your primary keyword. Adding these naturally throughout the content strengthens topical depth signals.
AI Suggestions
After analysis, click the AI Suggestions tab to see Claude's specific improvement recommendations. Unlike the score breakdown (which identifies problems), the AI Suggestions tab tells you exactly what to change and how to change it.
Example AI Suggestion
"Your meta description is 87 characters — too short to fill the ~155-character search snippet. Consider expanding it to include your primary keyword 'project management software' near the beginning, followed by a clear value proposition. Example: 'TotalApp project management software helps teams plan tasks, track progress, and hit deadlines — all in one dashboard. Free 14-day trial.'"
Each suggestion includes a copy-ready example so your team can implement the fix immediately without additional interpretation.
Comparison Mode
Click Add URL to analyse a second page alongside the first. The comparison view shows both sets of sub-scores in a side-by-side table. Use this to:
- Compare your page against a top-ranking competitor page for the same keyword.
- Compare an old version of a page against a newly optimised version before publishing.
- Audit multiple landing pages in one session and prioritise which to fix first based on the score gap.
Tip — Save Analyses for Later
Click the bookmark icon next to any analysis result to save it to your SEO history. Saved analyses are accessible from the History tab and can be re-run at any time to measure improvement progress after you have made changes to the page.
Multi-Select in the Audit Ledger
The Audit Ledger (left column of the history panel) shows every past audit as a row with a checkbox in front of it, plus a header checkbox to select or deselect every audit at once. Selecting one or more rows shows a live "N selected" count next to the ledger title.
Checkbox Style Follows Your Appearance Settings
The checkbox shape (circle or square) and whether a check icon is shown inside a selected checkbox are controlled globally from Settings → Appearance → List Style — the same setting used across every multi-select list in TotalApp.
AI Assistant
Click the vertical AI Assistant tab on the right edge of the screen to open a chat panel scoped to your full audit history. The assistant can compare score trends across audits, flag audits with the most critical issues needing urgent attention, identify URLs that haven't been re-audited recently, and summarise overall SEO health across all audited pages.
The panel respects your Settings → Agentic → Writer Engine selection: Ollama, Local LLM, and In-Browser models run entirely in your browser or on your own machine, while API and Local CLI route through the server. Every reply can be saved with one click via Save as Report — the report is added to My Reports with a title derived from your prompt.
Export
Click Download Report (PDF icon in the results toolbar) to generate a formatted SEO audit report. The PDF includes the overall score, all sub-scores with their detailed findings, the keyword analysis table, and the full AI suggestions list. The report is suitable for sharing with clients or handing off to a developer or content writer for implementation.
