Campaign Manager

Plan, launch, and track multi-channel marketing campaigns from one dashboard.

Overview

Campaign Manager is TotalApp's central hub for planning, executing, and measuring marketing campaigns across every channel your team uses. Create a campaign once, assign it a budget and date range, attach the channels it will run on — Email, Social, Display, or Search — and then monitor its performance in real time from a single dashboard.

Each campaign has its own dedicated card showing live metrics: impressions, clicks, conversions, cost-per-click, and return on investment. You can pause or resume a campaign at any time without losing its historical data. At the end of a campaign, the Completed status preserves the final report for future benchmarking.

Multi-Channel from Day One

A single campaign can span multiple channels simultaneously. For example, a product launch campaign might include an Email channel (linked to an Email Marketing campaign), a Social channel (linked to scheduled Social Scheduler posts), and a Display channel (for banner ads). All channel metrics roll up into the campaign's combined totals.

Campaign Creation

Click Add Campaign in the top toolbar to open the campaign form. All fields are optional except the campaign name, which must be filled before the Save button activates.

FieldDescription
Campaign NameRequired. A short, descriptive name used in all reports and dashboards.
ObjectiveChoose one: Brand Awareness, Lead Generation, Sales Conversion, or Retention. The objective helps filter campaigns in the dashboard and drives recommended KPIs.
BudgetTotal budget in your account currency. Used to calculate ROI and cost-per-click.
Start Date / End DateThe planned run window. The campaign activates automatically on the start date if set to Active status.
ChannelsSelect one or more: Email, Social, Display, Search. Each channel can have its own spend allocation within the overall budget.
Assigned Team MembersOptional. Tag team members responsible for this campaign. They receive in-app notifications on status changes.

Campaign Tracking

Each campaign card on the dashboard displays its key performance indicators in real time. The metrics shown depend on which channels are active:

Impressions

Total number of times the campaign content was displayed to a target audience member, across all channels.

Clicks

Total click-throughs across Email (link clicks), Social (link clicks and profile visits), Display, and Search ads.

Conversions

Actions that match the campaign objective — form fills for Lead Generation, purchases for Sales Conversion, etc.

Cost Per Click

Total spend divided by total clicks. Automatically calculated as spend is recorded against the campaign budget.

ROI

Return on investment as a percentage: (revenue attributed − budget spent) ÷ budget spent × 100. Requires revenue data from Ecommerce Reports or manual entry.

Status Pipeline

Every campaign moves through four statuses. You can change the status manually at any time by clicking the status badge on the campaign card.

Draft Active Paused Completed
  • Draft — Campaign is being planned. No metrics are tracked yet. Budget is reserved but not committed.
  • Active — Campaign is running. All channel metrics are actively tracked. The campaign appears in the overview totals.
  • Paused — Campaign is temporarily halted. Historical metrics are preserved. Channel integrations are suspended.
  • Completed — Campaign has ended. Final metrics are locked. The campaign is archived and excluded from active pipeline totals but remains searchable and reportable.

Tip

Use the status filter in the filter bar to view only Active campaigns during daily stand-ups, or only Completed campaigns when preparing quarterly reviews. Combine with the channel filter to isolate, for example, all active Email campaigns.

Reports & Export

The Reports tab inside Campaign Manager provides a side-by-side performance comparison of all your campaigns. Select two or more campaigns using the checkboxes in the campaign list, then click Compare to open the comparison view. Metrics are displayed as grouped bar charts (impressions, clicks, conversions) and a line chart for daily spend over time.

To export campaign data, click Export to Excel in the top toolbar. The export includes all visible campaigns with their full metric breakdown, one row per campaign. If you have an active filter applied, only the filtered campaigns are exported.

Can I export a single campaign's full day-by-day breakdown?
Yes. Open the campaign detail view by clicking the campaign name, then click the Download icon in the detail header. This exports a per-day CSV with all metrics for that campaign only.
How do I link a campaign to an Email Marketing send?
When creating or editing a campaign, select "Email" in the Channels field. Then open Email Marketing, create or edit a campaign, and choose this Campaign Manager campaign in the "Link to Campaign" dropdown. Email open and click metrics will flow back into the Campaign Manager card automatically.
