End-to-end logistics management — fleet, routes, dispatch, shipment tracking, and warehouse integration.
What's Included
TotalApp's Logistics module provides six screens that cover the complete outbound flow — from loading vehicles at the dock, to optimising their routes, to tracking every shipment milestone until delivery confirmation. All six screens share a single data layer (fleet.json) so changes in one screen are immediately visible in the others.

Screen Overview
Shipment Tracker
Post-departure live view of every shipment. One-click milestone advances, exception flagging with reason codes, and vehicle telemetry cross-reference.
Dispatcher Console
Real-time driver-job assignment with a four-stage Kanban pipeline. Automatically enforces vehicle capacity and status guardrails before binding a driver to a job.
Route Optimization
Interactive map showing greedy nearest-neighbour routes across all active fleet units. Hover connectors for full route details, distance, and ETA estimates.
Fleet Manager
Complete vehicle and driver registry. Manage plates, capacities, fuel types, driver assignments, and operational statuses in one place.
Maintenance & Fuel
Track every service event and fuel fill for every vehicle. Alerts for overdue maintenance and vehicles approaching service intervals.
Warehouse Link
Bridge between warehouse staging area and active fleet. Two-phase transfer (Stage then Load) with weight validation before trailer sealing.
Logistics Workflow
Screens in the Logistics module are designed to be used in a specific sequence that mirrors the physical outbound process:
- Warehouse Link — Stage goods from warehouse inventory to a dock, then load them into the bound vehicle. Verify total weight and seal the trailer to freeze the manifest.
- Dispatcher Console — Assign an available driver to the job. The dispatcher sees live capacity bars and status indicators for every driver.
- Route Optimization — View or recompute the vehicle's delivery route. The map shows the ordered stop chain and total estimated distance.
- Shipment Tracker — Track milestone progress in real time as the driver advances through the delivery sequence. Flag exceptions if delays occur.
- Delivery complete — The final milestone is recorded in Shipment Tracker and the job moves to Completed in the Dispatcher Console.
Transport Mode Requirement
All Logistics screens are accessible in the Transport or Logistics App Mode. To switch modes, click the mode indicator in the top header bar and select the Transport mode.
App Mode and Sidebar Visibility
TotalApp's sidebar only shows the screens relevant to your active App Mode. If you cannot see the Logistics section in the sidebar, switch to Transport mode via the header mode switcher. You can also enable it permanently in Settings → App Modes.
Shared Data Layer
All six Logistics screens read from and write to the same server-backed fleet.json data file via fleetService. This means:
- A vehicle marked as Maintenance in Fleet Manager is immediately unavailable in the Dispatcher Console.
- Cargo loaded via Warehouse Link appears instantly in the Route Optimization vehicle summary cards.
- Milestone advances in Shipment Tracker update the job status visible in the Dispatcher Console.
- Service records created in Maintenance & Fuel automatically update vehicle status in Fleet Manager.
Getting Started
- Switch to Transport mode using the header App Mode switcher.
- Open Fleet Manager from the sidebar to review your registered vehicles and drivers. Add any missing vehicles or drivers.
- Open Warehouse Link to stage outbound goods from warehouse inventory and load them into a vehicle. Seal the trailer when ready.
- Open Dispatcher Console and assign an available driver to the outbound job.
- Track delivery progress in Shipment Tracker — advance milestones as the driver reports in, or flag exceptions for delays.
Start with Fleet Manager
Fleet Manager is the foundation of the Logistics module. All other screens — Dispatcher, Route Optimization, Shipment Tracker — reference the vehicles and drivers registered there. Before using any other Logistics screen, make sure your fleet catalog is complete and accurate.
