Leave, overtime and expense approvals, plus HR reporting, in one consolidated screen.
Overview
Time & Operations Hub consolidates the manager-facing approvals screens — leave requests, overtime claims and expense submissions that need sign-off — together with an HR reporting entry point, into a single page with an internal sub-navigation list. Selecting an item on the left renders that sub-screen’s content inline in the same page, without a full navigation away from the hub. It is one of the three hubs shown in the sidebar when Hub view mode is active for the Human Resources module.
Time & Operations Hub does not introduce any new approval logic of its own — three of its four sub-screens render the exact same components used by their standalone Grid View screens, and the fourth (Reports) is a launcher into the full HR Reports analytics screen. All four sub-screens are fully live; none are placeholders.

AI Assistant
Time & Operations Hub includes a single, hub-level built-in AI Assistant, opened from the collapsed AI Assistant tab anchored to the right edge of the screen (click it to slide the panel open; click the tab on the panel's own left edge, or its header X, to close it again). Its context follows whichever sub-screen you currently have selected on the left — Leaves, Overtime, Expenses or Reports — and updates automatically the moment you switch tabs, without needing to reopen the panel. Example questions it can answer:
- A summary of what's currently visible on the active sub-screen
- Which requests are still pending approval on the active sub-screen
- Simple totals — total leave days, overtime hours, or expense amounts by requester or category
- Natural follow-up questions building on its previous answer
None of this hub's sub-screens had their own assistant before
Unlike Core HR & Organization Hub and Talent & Acquisition Hub, none of Leaves, Overtime, Expenses or Reports ship a standalone AI Assistant of their own in Grid View — this hub-level panel is the first AI Assistant available for any of these four screens. There is nothing to suppress here; opening the hub simply gives you one new AI entry point covering all four.
Replies can be saved as a report (Save as Report) for later reference, and you can attach existing Knowledge sources to ground its answers in additional context beyond the active sub-screen's data.
How It Works
Leaves, Overtime and Expenses are fully live and reuse the exact same underlying manager-view components as their Grid View counterparts, so an approval made in one view mode is immediately visible in the other. The Reports sub-screen is a slightly different shape: it embeds the HR Reports Hub’s summary widgets directly, and additionally includes a link that navigates away to the full, standalone HR Reports analytics screen (hr-reports) for deeper analysis — the hub gives you the at-a-glance summary inline, while the dedicated report screen remains available as a separate destination for detailed drill-down.
Reports is a launcher, not a full replacement
Unlike Leaves, Overtime and Expenses — which render their full manager view entirely inline — the Reports sub-screen is intentionally a compact summary plus an exit point into the dedicated HR Reports screen. If you need the full analytics experience (charts, filters, exports), follow the link out rather than expecting it inline in the hub.
Hub View vs. Grid View
TotalApp’s Human Resources module supports two view modes, controlled from Settings → Appearance or the sidebar view-mode toggle:
Sidebar shows 3 consolidated hub entries — Core HR & Organization, Talent & Acquisition, Time & Operations.
Sidebar shows individual entries instead — Leave Management, Overtime, Expense Management, HR Reports, and so on.
Both view modes read and write the same underlying tenant data — switching between them changes only how screens are organized for navigation, never the data itself. A hub’s sub-screens are literally the same React components as their Grid View standalone counterparts, just rendered inline inside the hub’s internal navigation instead of as a full top-level screen.
Don’t confuse this hub with the My Workspace self-service screens
Time & Operations Hub’s Leaves, Overtime and Expenses sub-screens are manager-facing approval screens — they show requests submitted by employees, waiting for a manager or admin to approve or reject. They are entirely separate from HR’s four employee-facing self-service screens — My Leaves, My Expenses, My Overtime and My Assets — which live under My Workspace, not under the Human Resources sidebar group, and are where an employee submits their own requests in the first place. My Workspace screens are not part of this Hub View vs. Grid View toggle at all and stay visible the same way regardless of which HR view mode is selected.
