Employees, organization structure, org chart, documents and assets in one consolidated screen.
Overview
Core HR & Organization Hub consolidates the foundational HR screens — employee master data, organization structure, org chart, HR document intake and company asset tracking — into a single page with an internal sub-navigation list. Selecting an item on the left renders that sub-screen’s content inline in the same page, without a full navigation away from the hub. It is one of the three hubs shown in the sidebar when Hub view mode is active for the Human Resources module, and every other HR workflow — recruitment, leave, performance — ultimately depends on the employee and organization data managed here.
Core HR & Organization Hub does not introduce any new HR logic of its own — all five sub-screens render the exact same components used by their standalone Grid View screens. Unlike Finance’s hubs, none of Core HR & Organization Hub’s sub-screens are placeholders; every one of them is a fully working screen today.

AI Assistant
Core HR & Organization Hub includes a single, hub-level built-in AI Assistant, opened from the collapsed AI Assistant tab anchored to the right edge of the screen (click it to slide the panel open; click the tab on the panel's own left edge, or its header X, to close it again). Its context follows whichever sub-screen you currently have selected on the left — Employees, Organization, Org Chart, Documents or Assets — and updates automatically the moment you switch tabs, without needing to reopen the panel. Example questions it can answer:
- A summary of what's currently visible on the active sub-screen
- Coverage gaps or missing data on that sub-screen (for example, employees with no department, or assets past their warranty)
- Headcounts, counts and simple breakdowns scoped to the active sub-screen
- Natural follow-up questions building on its previous answer
One assistant per hub, not one per sub-screen
Organization and Assets each ship with their own AI Assistant when opened standalone from Grid View (Organization, Asset Manager). Inside this hub, those two sub-screens' own assistant panels are suppressed so you only ever see one AI Assistant entry point on screen at a time — the hub's own panel, scoped to whichever tab is active.
Replies can be saved as a report (Save as Report) for later reference, and you can attach existing Knowledge sources to ground its answers in additional context beyond the active sub-screen's data.
How It Works
All five sub-screens — Employees, Organization, Org Chart, Documents and Assets — are fully live and reuse the exact same underlying components as their Grid View counterparts, so data entered in one view mode is immediately visible in the other. Because employee and organization data is shared across the entire HR module, changes made in any Core HR & Organization Hub sub-screen (for example adding a new employee in Employees) are reflected everywhere that data is referenced — including in the Talent & Acquisition and Time & Operations hubs.
All five sub-screens are live
Unlike some other TotalApp hubs that still carry “Soon” placeholder sub-screens, every sub-screen in Core HR & Organization Hub ships as a fully functional screen today — there is nothing waiting to be built here.
Hub View vs. Grid View
TotalApp’s Human Resources module supports two view modes, controlled from Settings → Appearance or the sidebar view-mode toggle:
Sidebar shows 3 consolidated hub entries — Core HR & Organization, Talent & Acquisition, Time & Operations.
Sidebar shows individual entries instead — Employees, Organization, Org Chart, Recruitment, CV Screening, Leave Management, Overtime, Expense Management, HR Reports, and so on.
Both view modes read and write the same underlying tenant data — switching between them changes only how screens are organized for navigation, never the data itself. A hub’s sub-screens are literally the same React components as their Grid View standalone counterparts, just rendered inline inside the hub’s internal navigation instead of as a full top-level screen.
My Workspace self-service screens are unaffected
HR’s four employee self-service screens — My Leaves, My Expenses, My Overtime and My Assets — live under My Workspace, not under the Human Resources sidebar group, and are not part of this Hub View vs. Grid View toggle at all. They stay visible the same way regardless of which HR view mode a manager or admin has selected. Don’t confuse the manager-facing approval screens inside Time & Operations Hub (Leaves, Overtime, Expenses) with these employee-facing self-service equivalents — they are different screens serving different roles.
