The three Healthcare screens that keep staff, equipment, and supplies ready to work — Staff Rosters, Medical Equipment, and Consumables Stock.
Overview
Clinical Resources tracks everything a department needs to actually deliver care: who is on shift right now, which critical devices are available and calibrated, and whether the ward has enough consumable supplies on hand. These three screens feed live readiness data into Regulatory & Insurance's Accreditation & Audits matrix, and into the clinical flow screens (Appointments, Room Allocation) that consume staff and equipment availability.

Quick Start
- Open Healthcare → Staff Rosters. Click Add Roster Slot, search for a Healthcare-domain employee in the Employee combobox, and set department, role, and shift.
- When a shift starts, click the roster card to open the Duty Terminal and use Check-In, Set On-Call, or Set Leave to record duty status. The Shift Density Meter warns if a department's on-duty/on-call headcount falls below its minimum coverage.
- Log any handover notes in the Clinical Handover Ledger panel — optionally flag a note for the incoming shift's patient watch-list.
- Open Medical Equipment to register a critical asset (ventilator, infusion pump, patient monitor, defibrillator, portable X-ray) with its next calibration due date.
- When a bed needs dedicated equipment, use Dispatch Asset to Bed to link an available asset to an occupied bed from Room Allocation.
- Open Consumables Stock to track central-warehouse and ward-cabinet quantities per item, add lot/batch records with expiration dates, and use Ward Requisition Dispatch to move stock into a department.
Low-stock and overdue-calibration flags feed Accreditation & Audits
Both Medical Equipment's calibration status and Consumables Stock's minimum-threshold gauge are read live by the Accreditation & Audits QA Inspector — keeping them current keeps the department's compliance score accurate.
1. Staff Rosters
Purpose: A high-density shift matrix (Morning / Evening / Night / On-Call) grouped by department, with a live duty check-in terminal and a shift-handover ledger.
Key features
- Shift Density Meter — flags any department/shift combination whose on-duty + on-call headcount falls below its configured minimum coverage, with a clear warning banner.
- Duty Terminal — one-click Check-In / Check-Out / Set On-Call / Set Leave for the selected roster slot, driving a color-coded status badge on every shift card.
- Clinical Handover Ledger — shift-change operational notes scoped to department + shift + date, with an optional patient watch-list flag for the incoming team.
- Emergency Shift Swap / Cover — reassigns an uncovered slot to an available on-call staff member of the same role, department, and shift date.

2. Medical Equipment
Purpose: A clinical asset tracking console for critical devices — ventilators, infusion pumps, patient monitors, defibrillators, and portable X-ray units — with a maintenance and calibration ledger.
Key features
- Monospace Asset Tags — e.g.
EQP-VENT-04, with category, serial number, and current ward/bed location. - Status badges — In-Use (red), Available (green), Under Maintenance (amber), and a high-contrast Calibration Overdue flag derived automatically from the next-due date, regardless of the stored status.
- Maintenance & Calibration Ledger — an incident log for reporting malfunctions, battery failures, or sensor failures, each opening a ticket and locking the asset out of allocation.

3. Consumables Stock
Purpose: A medical consumables and supply ledger (syringes, IV sets, surgical gloves, sterile gauze, disinfectants, catheters) with batch/expiration tracking and a low-stock progress gauge.
Key features
- Two-tier stock tracking — central warehouse stock is tracked separately from the sum of each department's ward cabinet sub-stock, with a visual gauge comparing total stock to the item's minimum threshold.
- Batch & Expiration Monitor — monospace lot/batch IDs (e.g.
LOT-20260815-A) with color-coded urgency chips: Expired, < 30 Days, < 90 Days, Valid. - Auto-Generate Purchase Order — drafts a purchase-order suggestion for every item currently at or under its minimum threshold, topping it back up toward 2× the threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions
What triggers the Shift Density Meter warning?
Each department has a configured minimum on-duty/on-call headcount per non-on-call shift. If the current count of staff checked in as On-Duty or On-Call for a department/shift combination falls below that minimum, a red warning banner appears listing exactly which shift is understaffed and by how many.
Why is an equipment asset shown as Calibration Overdue even though its status says Available?
The Calibration Overdue badge is derived live from the asset's next-calibration-due date, independent of its stored status field — so an asset can be marked Available in the database but still show the overdue badge if its calibration date has passed. This is intentional: it surfaces the real-world QA risk immediately rather than waiting for someone to manually flip the status.
How does Auto-Generate Purchase Order decide the suggested quantity?
For each item at or under its minimum threshold, the suggested quantity tops the item back up to roughly twice its threshold, minus whatever stock currently exists across central warehouse plus all ward cabinets. Items already above threshold are skipped, and an item with an existing open draft is not duplicated.
Can I dispatch equipment to a bed that isn't occupied yet?
No — the Dispatch Asset to Bed picker only lists beds with an
occupied status on Room Allocation, since the point is linking a device to a specific patient's stay. Reserve the bed on Room Allocation first, then dispatch the equipment once the patient is admitted.
