Public Fleet & Municipal Infrastructure
How TotalApp keeps public service vehicles dispatched, emergency fleets mission-ready, and capital infrastructure spending pointed at the highest public-safety priority.
How this group of screens works
The Public Fleet & Municipal Infrastructure group brings together the three screens that keep a municipality's vehicles moving and its physical infrastructure funded: Municipal Fleet Telematics & Live Dispatch, Duty-Cycle & Emergency Fleet Maintenance, and Infrastructure Asset Health & Capital Improvement.
As with the rest of Government Operations, each screen runs a background semantic search over the operational and legal context that governs it — live telemetry and service-coverage records, vehicle maintenance and duty-cycle history, or physical condition indices and capital budget rules — and an AI layer then synthesizes what that means for the record in front of you: which route or vehicle needs attention right now, and which infrastructure project should be funded next.

1. Municipal Fleet Telematics & Live Dispatch
Public Vehicle Fleet & Live Dispatch Management Board
GPS positions, fuel consumption, siren/duty status and route-coverage areas for public service vehicles — code enforcement, fire, police, snowplow, salting and refuse collection — are tracked semantically in one live board. The AI engine cross-references live telemetry against service routes to surface failing routes, wasteful idle time and coverage blind spots where an emergency vehicle has drifted out of range, then proposes an immediate re-dispatch.
Why this screen runs a background dispatch-optimization check
A fleet of dozens of public vehicles generates more live telemetry than a dispatcher can watch continuously. A background check against each vehicle's assigned route, current fuel/duty telemetry, and the jurisdiction's coverage-area requirements flags a stalled route, an unusually long idle period, or a coverage gap in real time — before it turns into a missed service call or an unprotected zone during an emergency.

2. Duty-Cycle & Emergency Fleet Maintenance
Emergency Fleet Maintenance & Readiness Management Screen
Maintenance for critical vehicles — ambulances, fire apparatus, search-and-rescue units — is prioritized semantically by duty-cycle (operating hours) and criticality level rather than standard odometer mileage alone. The AI engine analyzes each vehicle's failure history, spare-parts stock and open municipal garage work orders to keep every unit's Mission-Ready status on solid operational and legal footing at all times.
Why this screen runs a background mission-readiness check
An ambulance or fire engine that fails during a call is a life-safety incident, not a maintenance inconvenience — and mileage-based scheduling alone misses vehicles that idle for hours per shift with the engine and pumps running. A background check against duty-cycle hours, prior failure patterns, spare-parts availability and open garage work orders confirms a vehicle's readiness status before it is dispatched, and flags the ones that need to come off the line now.

3. Infrastructure Asset Health & Capital Improvement
Infrastructure Asset Health & Capital Investment Tracking Screen
Physical deterioration scores and maintenance needs for roads, sidewalks, bridges, water/sewer networks and public buildings are graded semantically in one registry. The AI engine cross-references physical-deterioration indices against the annual Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget to rank which infrastructure projects carry the highest public-benefit and safety priority for funding.
Why this screen runs a background capital-priority check
A municipality never has enough capital budget to fix every deteriorating asset in the same cycle, and choosing the wrong project first carries real safety and liability exposure. A background check against each asset's condition index, safety-risk history and available CIP allocation ranks candidate projects by public-benefit and safety priority before capital funds are committed — instead of by whichever request arrived first.
