Navigating Galleries

From any gallery, use the top navigation to switch between gallery types without losing your filter settings. The breadcrumb trail shows your current path: Galleries → Civilization → Ancient Egypt → Architecture.

Cross-Category Search

Use the global search bar to search across all galleries simultaneously. Search results are grouped by gallery type so you can see matches in Civilization, Region, and Content Type galleries side by side.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Civilization and Region galleries?
Civilization galleries group artwork by historical culture and era (e.g. Ancient Egypt, Feudal Japan, Roman Empire), while Region galleries group artwork by present-day geographic area (e.g. Europe, Asia, North America). The same piece of artwork can appear in both if it depicts a historical civilization tied to a specific modern region.
Can one artwork appear in more than one gallery category?
Yes. An image can be tagged with a Content Type (e.g. Architecture), a Civilization (e.g. Ancient Egypt), and a Region (e.g. Africa) simultaneously, so it will surface whenever you browse any of those matching galleries.
Does switching gallery types reset my active filters?
No. Using the top navigation to switch between gallery types preserves your current filter settings, so you don't have to reapply search terms or sort options each time you move between Content Type, Civilization, or Region galleries.
How does cross-category search decide which results to show first?
The global search bar queries all gallery types at once and groups the results by category, so you see matching items from Civilization, Region, and Content Type galleries side by side rather than a single mixed list — making it easy to compare how a search term appears across different organizational structures.
